In June of 2019, four of us was planned to sail on AmaWaterways AmaSonata. The cruise line offered a pre-cruise option in Prague but my partner and I decided to plan our own itinerary. Prague is a beautiful, walkable city and some of the city landscape looks like it’s straight out of a James Bond movie. June is a great time to travel to this part of the country as the weather is very pleasant. Follow along with my photoblog to see the places we visited.
The Prague Castle have beautiful grounds and landscape. We didn’t go into the castle, but ended up eating a burger overlooking their winery. Sentries stand at attention guarding the castle.
The next day, we hired a private car to take us to Kutna Hora, which is a city east of Prague. It’s known for it’s beautiful St. Barbara’s Church and Sedlec Ossuary.
Back in the city, a short distance from the Charles bridge is the Jewish Quarter in Old Town, Czech Republic. The next day we took a Viator Food Walking tour and ate some regional foods. Our guide was very knowledgeable and knew the history of this country. Don’t laugh at me but I didn’t know it changed from Czechoslovakia to Czech Repubic in 1992. I guess I was too busy raising my kids to notice!
And lastly, I’m including this image because I love the juxtaposition of the old building and the newer contemporary one.
