Liverpool, England. The city where the Beatles got their start, and host to the 151st Open golf tournament at the Royal Liverpool Golf Club in Hoylake. In contrast to London, this city feels more contemporary and easier to walk around because it’s smaller. Cruise ships port for one day so passengers can visit the Beatles museum and the famous Anfield Football stadium.
Wendell and I, along with a gazillion other golf fans attended the Open on two days. Beautiful sunny first day, but rained the last day. On our free day I thought it would be fun to catch a train and head 4 hours north to Edinburgh Scotland, but a train strike nixed that impulsive idea.
